Lawrence S. Melzer, CPA
Mr. Melzer received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Brooklyn College. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in the State of New York and in Connecticut and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Connecticut State Society of Certified Public Accountants. From 1986 to 2009 Mr. Melzer was a partner in the firm of Wolfson, Milowsky, Melzer and Wieselthier CPA’s, P.C. In November 2009, the firm reorganized and Mr. Melzer formed the firm Melzer & Associates CPA’s P.C. upon the former partners’ retirements. Mr. Melzer’s primary focus of concentration of clients is in the garment center, including manufacturers, wholesalers, retailers, cutters, sewers, piece good houses, trim houses, designers, and commission sales offices. Other areas of client expertise are in the following areas: real estate, co-ops and condominiums, transportation, restaurants, moving services, professional practices, wholesale, retail, manufacturing, printing, non-profit organizations, internet commerce, advertising, and trade publications. Mr. Melzer has also performed collateral field examinations for Bank Leumi and HSBC. Mr. Melzer is currently a peer reviewer of other accounting firms under the authority of the NYS Society of CPA’s. Mr. Melzer is a former member of the Real Estate Accounting Committee and Small Firms Practice Management Committee of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Melzer is known by various factors in the finance industry. He has served on the Board of Directors and has been the Treasurer of Lion Head Beach Association in East Hampton since 1997. Adam Baruch earned a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Accounting from Baruch College. He is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in the State of New York and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Baruch began his accounting career as an in house accountant at a real estate management firm in New York City, and in 2005 he joined the firm Wolfson, Melzer and Wieselthier, CPA’s, P.C., a New York City CPA firm, performing attest services for clients in various industries, while specializing in the garment industry.In November 2009, Mr. Baruch continued with Melzer & Associates, CPA’s, P.C. subsequent to the firm’s reorganization. Dennis Treulieb earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Public Accounting from Pace University and is currently a CPA candidate. During his studies at Pace University, Mr. Treulieb worked at Eisner LLP, where he gained experience in preparing individual and business tax returns. Immediately after his graduation in December 2008, Mr. Treulieb joined Wieselthier & Melzer CPA’s, P.C., a New York City CPA firm, performing attest services for clients in various industries, while specializing in the garment industry. In November 2009, Mr. Treulieb continued with Melzer & Associates, CPA’s, P.C. subsequent to the firm’s reorganization. Mr. Treulieb also performed collateral field examinations for Bank Leumi USA.
